On the morning of 31st March, at the Lecture Hall, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Senior High Department convened the analysis meeting for the monthly examination in March and the second-round practice tests. All teachers with the Senior High Section were in attendance and the meeting comprised three agendas as follows.
In the first place, Director Cao Siqing in charge of Grade 10 took the lead in making a keynote speech which he began with a dialogue between two Chinese Nobel Prize winners titled ‘True Feelings and Witty Remarks Cast An Essay’. Later on, he proceeded detailed analysis in terms of the grades, rankings, conditions in each class in addition to the credit distribution of students in Grade 10. Director Cao Siqing also summarized the current situation and countermeasures, emphasizing the significance of truth in analyzing and confronting issues.
In the second place, Director Xu Haihong in charge of Grade 11 analyzed in details the monthly test results of students in Grade 11. He conducted data comparison in five aspects which were the comparison between average score in each class and this monthly examination, the ratio difference of average score in each class, the contrast of the highest score and the lowest mark as well as the comparison in numbers of the top 30 students. Afterwards, Director Xu Haihong called upon all teachers from Grade 10 to carry through serious summary, update the learning strategies and teach students in accordance of their aptitude instead of giving up students.
In the third place, Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong initially gave an account of the overall performance of Anqing Foreign Language School’s 12th grade students in the practice tests in Anqing City. On the one hand, Principal Assistant Qian highly affirmed the gratifying results achieved by students. On the other hand, he acknowledged the hard work of all teachers in Grade 12. Nonetheless, as the saying goes, ‘Revolution has not yet been successful and comrades still need to make great efforts ’, which meant all teachers were supposed to proceed steadily step by step in the last dozens of days and endeavor to create another glory in the 2017 College Entrance Examination. Furthermore, Principal Assistant Qian stressed that regarding this monthly exam and the second-round practice tests, all teachers should earnestly conduct analysis and summary, carry forward the advantages and correct shortcomings. What’s more, so as to adapt themselves to the education in the new era, teachers should actively update their teaching philosophy to impart knowledge, educate people and cultivate morality. Besides, teachers were supposed to lay emphasis on guiding, stimulating and awakening students to let them realize self-motivated and happy learning. Last but not the least, Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong made comprehensive arrangements in regard to the present education and teaching work in Senior High Division.
On the whole, this informative conference enabled all teachers to have a detailed understanding towards their students, which played a powerful role in promoting the effective implementation of the subsequent education and teaching work. In the meantime, the conference inspired and changed the teaching theories of the front-line teachers, making them better suit and serve students.
